FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

No. Nothing joins the call, nothing appears in the participant list, and the other side installs nothing. Earshot records on your PC: your microphone on one channel, the meeting audio on the other. It works with Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex, a softphone, anything you can hear.
On your PC, in a folder you control. There is no Earshot server copy of your meetings. Deleting a meeting in the app deletes it from your disk.
Same app, different engine room. Self-hosting is free forever: you plug in your own AI keys (or your own Whisper server) and pay providers directly. Plus ($9/month) means we run transcription and AI for you, no keys, no setup, plus cloud features like sync and hosted share links as they roll out.
It's uploaded to our proxy over TLS, passed to the transcription model, and discarded, processed, never stored. Notes requests work the same way. If you enable Earshot Cloud sync (when available), only what you choose to sync is stored, encrypted, until you delete it.
No. Not by us, and the providers we use are bound by API terms that exclude training on customer data.
Transcription: your own Whisper server (free), Groq (generous free tier, then ~$0.04/hour), Deepgram, or OpenAI. Notes and Ask: any Anthropic key, any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or a fully local model via Ollama/LM Studio, your meetings never leave your machine on that setup.
Hours. Long recordings are split at quiet moments, transcribed in parallel where the provider allows it, and stitched back together automatically.
Audio you submit for transcription each month. That's roughly two hours of meetings every working day. Notes, action items, briefs and questions don't count toward it. If you hit the cap, transcription pauses until your cycle resets, or drop in your own key and keep going self-hosted.
Anytime, in either direction. Your meetings, projects and settings stay put; sign out of Plus and the app simply asks for your keys again.
